Dragon Wars Book Blast Giveaway

Summary

Life is filled with changes, but sometimes even the most tragic events bring joy in the end, which is something Danny Warren learns when he joins the Dragon Wars.
Danny sadly loses his father in a hit-and-run auto accident and is forced to move to a different town. But his fresh start is a horrible one and Danny desperately wants to find a world he can belong to. One afternoon, after a particularly hard day at school, Danny finds a mysterious box hidden inside his window seat. He soon discovers that the box is his portal to Dorcian, the dragon world. Sadly, the once amazing world is in utter turmoil, and its inhabitants are suffering.
Danny finds the one thing that can bring meaning and happiness back to his heart: saving those that desperately need his help. Together, one boy and six lone dragons, will defeat evil and wage the Dragon Wars. And, in the midst of it all, Danny will discover that even the smallest person can make a huge difference when it matters the most.

Bio:

Emily Fogle was born and raised in Southern California. Her dream and ultimate goal was to get her Masters degree in English and become a teacher with enough time to write, as well. However, she
soon found out that the best dreams often come true when they aren’t planned. Instead of fulfilling her teaching goal, real life took over and she married the man of her dreams. She now has an amazing 8 year old son and a beautiful baby boy.
She dedicates the majority of her time taking care of her family, volunteering at her son’s school, and being a Cub Scout Den leader. And though she loves every minute of it, the thought of being a writer still tugs at her heart. So, after the busy days are done and everyone is finally sleeping quietly, she squeezes in time for all the other loves in her life: the characters running wild inside her head.
Now, incredibly, her writing dream is also coming true. Her first novel, Dragon Wars, is being published by Anchor Group. Emily feels sincerely blessed to have been given so much in life and can’t wait to start the next chapter.

April Blog Challenge A to Z: B

April Blog Challenge:
Day 2: B for Blog
April 2, 2013
"I think therefore I blog"

When I published my book “Going off Dreams” on Amazon this past February, I learned that in order to get more recognition was to start a blog. First I created my series its own website goingoffdreams.com and then my first blog goingoffdreams.blogspot.com. When I started to write about other things besides my book, I branched out. For my love of movies and TV there is Wait Watch Wonder waitwatchwonder.blogspot.com. I have experienced a lot in my life, so when I get the notion I write personal testimonies in my blog titled Faith Warrior at testimonyinlife.blogspot.com. And, naturally – for my blog challenges I have dedicated the blog What Shall We Blog about Today? (kenowinsky.blogspot.com)
My writing was cultivated during the time that I earned my Associates Degree in Psychology, through the University of Phoenix. Grammar and I have never really seen eye-to-eye – you know, it’s never come over on Saturday to share a sundae (Sunday). Seriously though, some of my instructors really taught me some great skills that I’ve utilized in my writing today. For instance, I use to write towards all the time. I had instructors tell me that it should never have the s on the end. Now, when I see read others writing, it is something that I pick up on.
Blogging came to me pretty naturally. I have been keeping journals for a majority of my life. Most of them are devotionals, where I have studied sections of the Bible. I wrote down the passage, the message, and how it pertains to my life. Similarly, when I was in therapy they too suggested journaling. They gave me material to read over, so I would take a section at a time, read it carefully, and then write about it in my journal. This helped me to coordinate any questions I have for my next appointments. Blogging is like free therapy!
It took me awhile to learn formatting and layouts, what worked and what doesn't  I think I am still learning. I’m still trying to get followers and readers to comment – any suggestions? I have actually lost sleep from working on my blogs. It’s a good thing though, because it is something that I enjoy doing. I just hope other readers enjoy it as well.

April Blog Challenge A to Z: A

April Blog Challenge:
Day 1: A for April
April 1, 2013
"April showers bring May flowers"

The month of April has always been a busy one. It is when my parent's were married, so we have their anniversary. My dad and I share this month as our birthday months too. His is only two days prior to mine. Easter is usually in April, which I never have appreciated gifts with generic Easter theme's like bunnies or April showers. April 1st is April Fool's Day; this year as well as my one year anniversary with my boyfriend Justin. My boyfriend's mother's birthday is in April too.
My mom always tells this story how she went into labor with me on my dad's birthday (1977). She was in labor so long that they were joking that I didn't want to come out. And I wouldn't until two days later. Nowadays my family gathers to celebrate our birthday's together. It is the only time of year that we get a cherry-walnut cake, which is my dad's favorite cake. My favorite is ice cream cake, I love the oreo crunchies. One year my sister gave me my own personal birthday cake that was basically just the crunchies and a little bit of chocolate ice cream. It was delicious.

April Fool's Day is a day that people play pranks on one another, and then when the jig is up, yell "April Fool's!"
It is usually the start of prank wars too. Where repetitive pranks are the result of competitiveness in crowning an individual superior prankster.  Just remember, if you are the victim of an April Fool's prank, don't be discouraged. Remember to laugh (even at yourself) because laughter keeps us healthy and happy.
What was your greatest April Fool's prank?
When I was growing up, my mom played the best prank. April Fool's fell on a weekend and she woke me up and we went through the morning routine as usual. It was a great prank and I didn't complain, just thought it was another school day. It wasn't until my cousin asked me why I was standing at the bus stop that I realized the prank. I was a little just a little naive.

Anniversaries are special moments that a couple celebrates their relationship. This year will mark one year for my boyfriend and I. We actually knew of each other when we were younger growing up. I continued through High School and he went to a Vocational High School. We reconnected through Facebook, started to just chit-chat, and eventually we decided to get together. I remember first seeing him when I opened my front door. I usually didn't get nervous about first dates, but when I saw him I suddenly felt really nervous. He was so handsome and tall (I'm vertically challenged) there was definite attraction. On our first date, we went to see The Raven (2012) and when he held my hand there was intense electrical sensations that were racing around in my body.

This has been my A installment for the April A to Z blogging challenge. Last month I completed the March Blogging Challenge and I look forward to completing this one as well. I will have a few quest bloggers this month as well and some giveaways since it is my birthday month. So, stay tuned and check back often!
