From the beginning of the prologue I was intrigued. Kelan's battle with his "dark passenger" was a call to my withdraw from a favorite show that use to use the same terminology. Plus, the questionable debate can Beauty love the Beast? The first two chapters further my belief that fighting with exes are never a good thing, let alone if your boss is your ex, and he's a total douche! I was further pulled into the story because I could relate to Ashley's struggle with swearing off men. I really liked the different perspectives within the book, I think the book expresses the main protagonists well, and works well to intertwine the different characters.
By the thirteenth chapter, I was hooked and was dying over Ashley's "dream"; that was a wonderful dream!

BOOK SYNOPSIS
One kiss was all it took.
Between work, family and her ex-boyfriend, Ashley Blakely is completely stressed out. She doesn’t have time to write in her fantasy diary or compete in the annual ‘fantasy wish’ competition her and her sisters have going. The only thing wants this Christmas is normalcy.
All hope of a normal Christmas… or life… fly out the window the moment she’s kissed by Kelan Grant. Now she’s swept up in a whirlwind of romance, seduction and danger. She wants no part of this new life. Yet, once she finds out that her sisters and her best friend are in jeopardy, she will do whatever it takes to keep them safe. “Kelan,” Ashley unwrapped the sheet from around her body and watched his chest rise and fall as his eyes roamed over her. “I’m done lying to you and to myself. I’ve wanted to know what you would feel like ever since the moment you approached me at that gas station. Every time you look at me you set me on fire. I keep telling myself it’s the cosmos and fate that is forcing us to have this sort of connection. But I know that’s not all there is to it. You and I… we fit together. You’re just as dark and sometimes disturbing as I am.”
Kelan chuckled. “My darkness is supposed to scare you away not pull you closer.”
“It does scare me. But it also excites me. You excite me, you and your beast. Tonight, I want to let you both have me.”
His body shivered and his eyes turned black.
“But before we do things your way, I want to do them my way. Kelan, I want to taste you.”
He closed his eyes. Ashley smiled. Damn his reactions turned her on just as much as his tongue did. She reached forward and touched his leg. He jerked away from her. She quickly brought her hand back into her lap.
“Not yet,” he told her. “I need to,” he rubbed his hands over his face. “I need to calm down.”
She didn’t want him calm. She wanted him the opposite of calm.
“You don’t have to be calm,” she told him. “I like it rough, I like you rough.”
He raised his head and stared at her for a long time. So long that she felt she may have said something wrong.
“I don’t want to hurt you Ashley.”
“You won’t,” even though she said those words she wasn’t so sure about them.
“I want you so bad. It’s all I think about. It’s all I dream about. But I don’t want to hurt you. I don’t just fuck Ashley, I feed also. I don’t know if I can fuck you without wanting to slip my fangs into you.”
She’d expected that. “What good would a hard dick be without hard fangs,” she joked.
Kelan burst out laughing. She found herself laughing with him.
“You’re the perfect mate Ashley Blakely.”
